Lake Chem Community Federal Credit Union, a leading community-focused financial institution, today announced a major expansion of its charter, allowing it to serve persons who live, work, worship, or attend school in, and businesses and other legal entities located in Ballard, Caldwell, Calloway, Carlisle, Crittenden, Fulton, Graves, Hickman, Livingston, Lyon, Marshall, and Trigg Counties, Kentucky. This expansion marks a significant milestone in Lake Chem’s commitment to providing accessible and affordable financial services to a broader community.

The expanded charter, approved by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), will enable Lake Chem to offer its full range of financial products and services, including checking and savings accounts, loans, mortgages, and financial education resources, to all of Western Kentucky.

“The success of a credit union is not measured in profit, but in the well-being of its members and the strength of its community.”, said Connie Evans, CEO of Lake Chem. “This expansion will allow us to better serve our members and provide better lending options and resources for our community. As a not-for-profit financial institution, we operate on a “people helping people” philosophy, and we are excited to expand our charter to help even more people.”

This expansion comes as a result of the credit union’s strong financial performance and its desire to meet the growing needs of the community.

“As we have grown, specifically in the past few years, we have seen the demand for banking that isn’t robotic and cold,” added Jessica Adams, Marketing Director. “People want someone on the other end of the line when they call. They want to be met with empathy, not automation, and that’s where Lake Chem excels. We are able to blend the ease of technology to make banking a seamless experience, but still focus on the human element that makes Credit Unions so special. Our members aren’t account numbers and loan files. They are our community members, teachers, t-ball coaches, neighbors, business owners, and friends. We are committed to our community, and we are so excited to extend that to all of Western Kentucky now.”

Lake Chem is committed to providing personalized financial solutions and empowering individuals and families to achieve their financial goals. The expansion will allow the credit union to extend its reach and positively impact the lives of more people.
